The 42SR1 is a 42” IP66 rated “Sun Readable” display for use in high ambient light environments where the display may also be exposed to water, oil or other substances which would inhibit the operation of a standard display. Modifications to the LCD panel allow light falling naturally onto the display to be reflected back towards the viewer, increasing the brightness of the panel in line with ambient lighting conditions. The display utilises a standard backlight, which in the absence of ambient light creates a screen brightness of 500cd/m. However, as increasing levels of ambient light impact on the LCD the brightness of the panel increases to in excess of 1000cd/m with no increase in power consumption!
An IP66 rating makes the 42SR1 ideal for use in transport applications or outdoor digital signage, where the ingress of diesel fumes, water and exposure to temperature variation usually prevent the use of LCD panels. The 42SR1 carries a two year exchange warranty covering external use within a temperature range of -20 to +45 degrees.
